1st Annual Willapa Hills Ride & Fest

Flat, family-friendly and fun to ride, the Willapa Hills Trail in southwest Lewis County is beckoning. Lewis County Community Trails invites you and your family to come join the First Annual Willapa Hills Trail Fat Tire Ride and Festival, June 25-26.

Ride along one of Washington state’s newest rail-to-trail corridors that passes by beautiful farmlands and through gorgeous forests. A 46-mile journey over two days is met in the middle with a festival and overnight camping in Pe Ell, Washington.

The entire family is invited, too. Any hills on the course are very gradual, and the trail itself features more than enough width for two or three people to ride side-by-side.

Girls Night Out

Shop, eat, play and maybe have a cocktail! This Thursday is Girls Night Out, sponsored by the Olympia Downtown Association. Together with local shop owners, they’ve put together a fantastic day of shopping, walking, eating and even a dessert reception.

August 13th, 2016 kicks off the the 8th annual Olympia Pub Crawl! Founded in 2009, the Olympia Pub Crawl is a walking tour of the pubs, bars, and restaurants in downtown Olympia. Participants include a wide variety of people, all who want to support local businesses and an important cause while having fun doing it! Dillinger’s specializes in hand-crafted cocktails and their Blackberry Bramble was my weapon of choice on Saturday night. It was smooth, not too sweet over a refreshing cradle of crushed ice.

Slurp 2016

Oly360 Taylor Shellfish

Sunday Fun Day! Oysters Galore!!!  As far as the eye can see raw, cooked, baked, marinated and smoked. Tasty treats in a little half shell ready to be slurped and gulped. Oh did I mention the tastings? Beer or wine or both. All was included in the $60 cover.  Wasted the afternoon away, enjoying great wine and some of the best shellfish on EARTH!!  My personal favorite and winner of the Best Shell Fish Dish was Beau Legs in Olympia.
