Rhubarb Mohito

Ah the mojito. I rank it pretty high on the boozy summer refreshment list. Not to ignore a good margarita, but the mint in a mojito just cools you right off. Traditional mojitos are made with club soda, mint, lime and white rum. Add rhubarb and now the summer drink edges its way onto the […]

Aloha Lanai!

Thurston County is saying ‘aloha’ to Hawaiian flavors. The Lanai Café opened in downtown Olympia less than six months ago. Though the owners are from the Pacific Northwest, their business partners are from Maui and Oahu. The menu features items like a savory pulled pork that is slow cooked and shredded. It can be eaten […]

Foot stomping @ Rhythm & Rye

The place was packed. The drinks were cold and everyone was dancing! Hillstomp was in the house and they rocked the roof off. We’ll make sure you know next time they’re in town!

Sunday Funday!

Sunday Morning. The laziest of lazy mornings. After the drudgery of the working all week and the Saturday “gotta get sh*t” done mandate. Sunday is fun day. It’s the day you can have a refreshing cocktail and coffee while ordering breakfast. Now mind you, we are polite and respectable so ordering a fresh squeezed mimosa is the way to go.

Oly360 Jeremy's Farm to Table 7

Jeremy’s Farm to Table has excellent mimosas. They’re fresh squeezed, handmade to order and they are classic. I paired mine with Jeremy’s gluten free crepes stuffed with peaches then topped with whipped cream. It was breakfast dessert and I loved it!

If salad is your thing, Jeremy’s Caesar is crisp, refreshing with just the right tang of lemon.

Sultry, Sexy, Beautifully Talented Storm Large

Bask in the sensuality of Storm Large in her upcoming performance at the Washington Center for the Performing Arts on June 16th.

http://www.washingtoncenter.org/upcoming-events/2016/6/16/taken-by-storm-storm-large-le-bonheur.html

“A six-foot tall torch singer with an international cult following, Storm Large and her band Le Bonheur take the stage for a sensational cabaret act. Pink Martini’s genre-defying chanteuse and author of best selling memoir Crazy Enough is “an intoxicating and unmissable cocktail of power and vulnerability” (The Times, UK) equally at home in a dive bar or on stage at Carnegie Hall. With remarkable vibrato that moves from titillating love songs to rock goddess anthems, Large’s performances truly live up to her name.”

1st Annual Willapa Hills Ride & Fest

Flat, family-friendly and fun to ride, the Willapa Hills Trail in southwest Lewis County is beckoning. Lewis County Community Trails invites you and your family to come join the First Annual Willapa Hills Trail Fat Tire Ride and Festival, June 25-26.

Ride along one of Washington state’s newest rail-to-trail corridors that passes by beautiful farmlands and through gorgeous forests. A 46-mile journey over two days is met in the middle with a festival and overnight camping in Pe Ell, Washington.

The entire family is invited, too. Any hills on the course are very gradual, and the trail itself features more than enough width for two or three people to ride side-by-side.
